SUE Solutions contracted with Ensign Engineering and Oak Hills Gardens Home Owners Association to perform Subsurface Utility Engineering Services (SUE), in the form of Quality Level B utility Designating. The Oak Hills Gardens Home Owners Association expressed issues they were having with their current (“private”) culinary water system in which it was leaking and in need of replacement. A challenge presented by the existing water system is that it is a “private” facility. Meaning, it does not get located when a blue stake location request is made along with the other “public” utilities within the development. In addition, the system is old and void of any existing mapping or “as-builts”. SUE Solutions Quality Level B designating efforts included coordinating the activities with the HOA’s President and Facilities Manager and Ensign Engineering’s survey crews. At the completion of the project, SUE Solutions successfully located over 1,800 lineal feet of 4 inch ductile iron water mainline and service laterals. SUE Solutions also made themselves available to the Contractor responsible for the replacement of the system.
