I-15; 2700 North (Farr West) to 1100 South (Brigham City), Weber County, Utah

SUE Solutions successfully completed the subsurface utility engineering (SUE) services for this I-15 project located in Weber County, for the Utah Department of Transportation Region One. The completed scope of work included utility asset identification in the form of SUE Quality Level D. UDOT asked SUE Solutions to investigate the existing utility owners within the project corridor, research and obtain any existing utility mapping information available, and enter the existing utility information into Microstation (CAD). The focuses of the investigations were upon those utilities which cross I-15 both underground and overhead. This utility information is to be used as an informational background during the planning stage of this project. The early identification of utility owners and the locations of their facilities will allow UDOT to focus their attention to possible high risk utilities which may exist within the project corridor, furthermore allowing them to establish a more realistic budget for potential relocations and utility related issues. At the completion of the SUE activities, SUE Solutions identified twenty-three (23) utility owners within the project corridor, and mapped over 17,000 feet of utilities. The final deliverable to UDOT was a comprehensive report which contained narratives of those utilities within the project corridor, existing utility owner mapping which was obtained, a list of utility owners, and a CAD (Microstation) file of the utility investigations.
